VEA employs individuals who work out of the headquarters in Richmond and regional offices. Most professional positions are UniServ Directors who work directly with members and local Union leaders across the state.
The VEA headquarters staff includes lobbyists, researchers, technology, professional learning, and communications specialists, as well as administrative, technical, and accounting support staff.

According to a poll conducted by Virginia Commonwealth University, 66% of Virginians say public schools do not have enough funding to meet their needs.
